Appeal for donations for the flood victims in Silesia

Every donation counts and helps the people of Kotlina Kłodzka in these difficult times.

One of the regions in Eastern and Central Europe worst affected by the current floods is the Kotlina Kłodzka region in Lower Silesia, Poland. Two dams broke there on the weekend of 14/15 September and several bridges were swept away by the force of the water. Large parts of the country are flooded, many people have had to leave their homes and are dependent on quick and unbureaucratic help. The city of Glatz (Kłodzko) and the towns of Seitenberg (Stronie Śląskie), Ullersdorf (Oldrzychowice Kłodzkie), Eisersdorf (Żelazno), Rengersdorf (Krosnowice), Wartha (Bardo) and Bad Landeck (Lądek Zdrój) are particularly affected.

‘As the Silesian Museum in Görlitz, we have close ties with the affected region and are calling for urgently needed donations in kind,’ says Museum Director Agnieszka Gasior. With the donation campaign, the museum wants to express solidarity as well as provide targeted, effective aid that directly reaches the people affected by the floods. ‘Please support us in bringing the urgently needed donations in kind to the flood victims in the Glatzer Land region!’ says Agnieszka Gasior.
