Projects of the Silesian Museum are usually related to planned exhibitions, or they serve research purposes and documentation of the museum’s own collection. They are often organised and realised together with Polish partners, i.e. museums and research institutions. In order to finance the projects, it is usually required to acquire subsidies exceeding the regular budget of the museum. In this respect, the INTERREG-co-operation programme of the European Union plays an important role. Financial support was granted also by the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior and by the cultural commissioner assigned by the Federal Government to promote culture in accordance with § 96 BVFG (Federal Expelled Persons Law), furthermore by the foundation for German-Polish co-operation and the supporting association (Förderverein) of the Silesian Museum.
