All objects displayed in the different parts of this collection are material testimonies of Silesia’s past and they represent, in a special way, various aspects of politics, economy, culture and daily life in Silesia. The focus of this museum collection is on the period from the 16th century until the end of old Silesia in 1945.

Particularly archive documents, maps, coins and medals, but also some military items or selected objects of art and handicraft, of daily routine and industrial culture are suitable to document and illustrate the history of Silesia. They refer to different periods of Silesian history, tell us about important events and characters or bear witness to the social and economic situation.
